Alright Dave?

Now that we've had the misfortune to move to a non-cable area, any new addition to the miserable line-up of channels on Freeview is a bonus, so I'm reasonably pleased to see that the channel formerly known as UKTV G2 has arrived today.

However. Obviously UKTV can't let such a momentous event go unmarked, and as "UKTV G2" is a shite name for a channel, they've rebranded it. Unfortunately I can only assume that they've asked Trigger from Only Fools And Horses to rename the channel, because the channel is now called, simply, Dave.

Yes. Dave. Dave the TV channel.

Apart from that, it's the same old UKTV G2 we know and lo... er, we know and are reasonably fond of. Repeats of Top Gear, Buzzcocks and QI, basically. In fact, they show QI, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You from 9pm till 11pm and then save valuable bandwidth by becoming their own +2 channel and showing exactly the same episodes of QI, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You again. How very commendable!
